When putting a puzzle together, I find it very relaxing to have music playing. Sometimes it's classic rock from the 50's to the 80's and other times country music, or gospel. As long as it's toe-tapping music with a happy beat, it doesn't make much difference whether it is fast or slow. Sometimes it makes the puzzle pieces go together better.

What's the most recent puzzle you put together? Mine was one of the Thomas Kincaid cottages with a lot of detail. It had a cottage made of stones and posts made up of many stones, a dirt drive, and a lot of bright colored flowers scattered throughout the landscape, making it a very interesting picture to work on, and a beautiful rustic scene.

Another good reason to buy jigsaw puzzles is you can choose from a great variety of subjects, from beautiful landscapes, to buildings, seascapes, animals, people, travel scenes, and so much more. It actually works two ways. You can make that scene come alive right in the comfort of your own home, while imagining yourself in the picture!

What ain't to love about putting together 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzles?

When first getting interested in jigsaw puzzles, I had to pat myself on the back when I finished one with only 500 pieces, but the more puzzles I put together, the more I love to work on jigsaw puzzles with 1000 pieces.

The frame of the puzzle is the first thing to go together on my table. After the frame is together, then usually a certain section draws my attention. Not sure why! Maybe it's because of certain colored puzzle pieces. I really like the brighter colors. Maybe it's due to particular scenes making up the puzzle, like Mountains, streams, structures, or people, which are all great places to start.

Sometimes after I really get going, I find it helpful to refer back to the box, especially when I have put a lot of pieces together, but have not attached them to the frame. The picture on the box will at least give me a hint where to position them inside the frame. As the jigsaw puzzle nears completion, sometimes I feel lucky, when I can search for a piece with certain parameters and find exactly the right piece...and sometimes not.

Music room puzzles are only one of many topics in which you can buy 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. I like to set up a card table in an open area, where I can put a puzzle piece or two in every time I walk by. The table for the puzzle is also in the same room near my piano so I can play music if I need a break after working on it for several hours.

Another thing I have found works well for me is to have the phone nearby. You'd be surprised how much progress you can make at putting a jigsaw puzzle together while talking on the phone.

I don't know about you, but the last pieces to go into the puzzle are usually the ones that are one color. That's when I have to pay more attention to shapes, with no particular clue due to colors and other identifying marks. They typically will be white, blue sky, or less bright colors.

How do you decide which puzzle to buy? Do you buy according to brand name, like White Mountain puzzles or Ravensburger puzzles? Or is the subject and picture of the puzzle what determines the puzzle you buy? Typically, I normally buy depending on the topic and the picture, but if I have already put a brand name puzzle together that I liked, then the brand can also affect my decision.
